Penne Al Telefono

One of my favorite pasta dish from Cibo is the penne al telefono a delicious no meat recipe that is creamy, cheesy and super hearty. Made some last night for Andrew and the husband was absolutely impressed :)- So simple to cook, this will definitely be one of my go to pasta dish when i need something quick and yummy.

Serves 2-3

200 Grams of uncooked penne
2 Tbsp Garlic, chopped
2 Tbsp White Onions, Chopped
2 Tsp White Sugar
1/2 Tsp Salt
1/8 Tsp Black Pepper
1 Can Crushed Tomatoes
1/2 PC Chicken Bouillon
1/2 Cup Water
1 Cup Heavy Cream
1/2 Cup Mozzarella Cheese, Shredded
Olive Oil

Cook pasta in salted water according to package or until al dente.

In a pan, sauté garlic and onions in olive oil until soft and tender.  Add in crushed tomatoes and water.


Season with salt, pepper, sugar and bouillon cube. Simmer for 15-20 minutes or until thick. ( Very important step )

Add cream and simmer for a minute or two. Add in the pasta, mix and add in the cheese. Stir lighty until cheese has melted and then turn off the heat.

Add parmesan and basil for garnish and serve immediately :))
